How is it that this uproariously funny bit of video making has only come to my attention now?  I’m feeling neglected.

I found Honest Trailers linked from a post from the Bloggess.

That’s funny!

I give you Lord of the Rings, by Honest Trailers:

On crap!  How lame am I with the blogging thing.  The server it lived on crashed and was completely replaced months ago.  Did I notice my blog was gone?  Do Teabaggers have a clue?  (No and no).

Did I realize that my blog was toast even after I couldn’t retrieve the database files for the other blogs that were on the machine?  Seriously.  Where the heck was my brain?

It’s back up now and on a better server.  And there are database backups.  Even your personal stuff should be backed up.  Make a note.

So, I’m vowing to blog and blog plenty.  Does it matter if I gather an Ashton Kutcher-esque following?  Nope.  As another blogger I read (Coding Horror) says:

“For example, I don’t care if anyone reads what I write here. I’m writing to satisfy myself first and foremost. If others read it and benefit from it, fantastic — that’s a welcome side effect. If I worry about who is reading, why they’re reading, or if anyone is even reading at all, I’d be too paralyzed to write! That’d be the least productive outcome of all.”

I agree whole-heartedly.  I’m going to write and write and do art and get, presumably, get better.
